House Moving Forward With Articles of Impeachment Against President Trump

Breaking this morning: Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced she is asking the chairman to proceed with articles of impeachment against President Trump. She instructed House Democrats to draw up the articles, saying "The facts are uncontested. The president abused his power for his own political benefit."

 On Wednesday, three of four constitutional experts agreed that the President had overstepped his limits. ABC News reports those three law professers were chosen by Democrats. The fourth, chosen by Republicans, said there was not yet sufficient evidence and that Democats were rushing to judgement.

 Some lawmakers anticipate a floor vote in the coming weeks, but an official announcement has not yet been made.

12/1/19 Update

Many southeast Michigan residents were in the dark this Thanksgiving. About 106-thousand DTE Energy customers lost power while strong winds battered the region Wednesday. 

More than one-thousand families were able to have a Thanksgiving meal thanks to a Holland non-profit. Community Action House provided turkeys and sides to those in need.   

A wrong-way driver in Grand Haven is in custody and facing several charges. Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies tried to pull over a vehicle that was going in the wrong direction on U.S. 31 near the Ferrysburg exit Thursday morning.

Firefighters from the South Haven Area Emergency Services spent their Thanksgiving morning battling a fire at Hamlin Farms. Firefighters arrived around 7 a.m. to a grain dryer that was engulfed in flames.  

A Michigan doctor and two associates are facing prison after admitting to running an $8 million scam. The scheme worked, by conning UAW members into thinking the prescriptions were free. 

Mott Community College Board of Trustees voted Monday to place an $80 million bond proposal on the March 10th ballot. If passed, the bond would go toward continuing the college’s authority to issue bonds for capital improvement projects. 

Just in time for the holidays, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says the flu season is peaking early. 38 states are already reporting flu activity. Experts suggest now is the time to act and get a flu shot. 

Racers hit the streets of Traverse City Thursday for the region’s 12th Turkey Trot. Runners dashed in the 5K and 5-mile events. Organizers say this year’s event set records with nearly 2,800 participants.
